As someone who has many dietary restrictions, I rarely eat out. However, there are a few restaurants and cafes that I adore that accommodate my diet (lifestyle). Living in Japan, finding such places to eat out can be really difficult. Even if they claim they are a vegetarian, vegan or macrobiotic restaurant/cafe, they will use plant-based products as well as animals products. You must be very careful.
For example, my favorite restaurant Chaya Macrobiotics is located on the 7th floor of the Isetan department store in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

However, they DO serve fish BUT all ingredients used are natural, organic, fresh and 100% dairy-free. For those vegans and vegetarians out there, if you do not mind just avoiding the dishes that have fish. I strongly recommend this restaurant. They also have gluten-free cakes and puddings as well! Their dairy-free desserts are to die for. You can eat in or take out. Check this place out!
